Itinerary

Day 1 - Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver and transfer to your hotel with the remainder of the day at your leisure. Vancouver is full of popular attractions, shops, and delightful restaurants. Overnight Fairmont Hotel Vancouver or Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Vancouver.

Day 2 - Vancouver to Kamloops
Board the Rocky Mountaineer for a 7:30 departure to Kamloops. Today's journey will transport you from coastal city environs to the lush green fields of the Fraser River valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade mountains, to the desert-like landscapes of British Columbia’s interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake and into Kamloops, arriving around 17:30. Overnight Kamloops. (B, L)

Day 3 - Kamloops to Banff
Your journey continues at 6:15 as the Rocky Mountaineer makes its way eastward to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. A spectacular array of scenery stretches before you as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels of the Canadian Rockies. Highlights of today’s journey include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon, and the Spiral Tunnels. Your rail journey ends just before 19:30 in the resort town of Banff. Overnight Fairmont Banff Springs or Banff Ptarmigan. (B, L)

Day 4 - Banff to Lake Louise Scenic Transfer
Embark on a narrated tour through the stunning Canadian Rockies, the highlight of which is a 25-minute helicopter flight above the six glaciers of Mount Resolute, Mount Cline and the Whitegoat Peaks. You’ll also view a 274-meter waterfall, see some spectacular aqua-green alpine lakes and cross over a 2,743-meter mountain pass. A visit to a local ranch will provide ample time to discover scenic walking trails and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Your excursion ends upon arrival in Lake Louise early this afternoon with the remainder of the day at your leisure to explore the beautiful Chateau and the glistening lake. Overnight Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. (L)

Day 5 - Lake Louise to Calgary with Summit Helicopter
Today’s full-day tour begins with a sightseeing tour of Banff withy visits to Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Continue on to Kananaskis for the highlight of today's adventure, a 15-minute Summit Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. There will be time to explore the town of Kananaskis before your afternoon transfer to Calgary. Overnight Fairmont Palliser or International Hotel & Suites Calgary.

Day 6 - Calgary Departure
Your holiday ends this morning. You may wish to extend your stay in Calgary for additional sightseeing, or transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
