Itinerary

Day 1 - London - Lindau
We journey aboard Eurostar from London St Pancras International to Paris or Brussels and continue by rail to Constance. From here our coach takes us to the island town of Lindau, whose harbour is regarded as the most attractive anywhere on Lake Constance with its monument and lion statue. This is our base for the next six nights.

Day 2 - Stein am Rhein - Schaffhausen & the Rhine Falls - Constance
Our coach takes us to Stein am Rhein where you can explore the ancient streets and well preserved medieval centre of this Swiss town. Our next stop is Schaffhausen, which is overlooked by the majestic Munot fortress and surrounded by vineyards. This little town is also home to the largest waterfall in Europe, an awesome sight stretching 150m across and between 15 and 21m high. We also visit the pretty town of Constance.

Day 3 - Vaduz
Today we travel to the principality of Liechtenstein and visit the capital, Vaduz. We start with a City Train tour which takes in the historic part of old Vaduz, past the vineyards and stops at the famous Red House, where you see the magnificent castle before travelling through the surrounding countryside. After some free time we move on to Hofkellerrei of the Prince of Liechtenstein for a tour of the famous vineyard and wine tasting.

Day 4 - Lake Constance Cruise
From the Zeppelin town of Friedrichshafen on the shores of Lake Constance, we board the beautiful Hohentwiel steamship which was once a luxurious mode of transport for state kings and queens. We take a memorable cruise on the lake from Friedrichshafen to Immanstaad, enjoying breathtaking scenery from the deck and relaxing in the elegant lounges, sampling delicacies from the ships galley and being waited on by the attentive staff.

Day 5 - Bregenz - Hard
We visit the picturesque lakeside towns of Bregenz and Hard and travel on the cable car to the summit of Mount Pfaender, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the lake, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Day 6 - Mainau - Reichenau
Mainau is known as the Flower Island and is in effect one enormous park with wonderful features, including rose gardens, tropical greenhouses, a butterfly house, palm house, arboretum and an old Baroque palace. The island of Reichenau is equally beautiful and well known for its abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 7 - Lindau - London
We depart in the morning, retracing our route to Paris or Brussels where our Eurostar connection returns us to London St Pancras International.
