captivating 9 day cruise. Our journey begins with tranquil lochs, legendary castles and
magnificent peaks as we travel through a breathtaking landscape, followed by the chance to
step ashore the Isles of Mull, Iona, Eigg and Skye and experience the unique quality of life and
tradition of these Inner Hebridean jewels.
Day 1 – London - Scotland
From London Euston we journey to Inverness aboard the Scotrail Caledonian Sleeper train.
Day 2 – Inverness
We meet at Inverness where we board our ship for
a relaxing evening and enjoy the Captain's
welcome reception and dinner.
Day 3 – Inverness - Fort Augustus
This morning we visit Culloden and see the ancient
standing stones of Clava Cairns. In the afternoon
we sail along the famous Caledonian Canal, before
entering the waters of Loch Ness and passing the
romantic ruins of Urquhart Castle to reach the
quaint village of Fort Augustus.
Day 4 – Fort Augustus - Banavie
Ascending a dramatic series of locks, we cruise
through the heart of Fort Augustus before sailing
into Loch Lochy. Our destination is the town of
Banavie, which nestles in the shadow of Ben Nevis,
where you can join our optional excursion along
the West Highland Railway line to Glenfinnan.
Day 5 – Banavie - Craignure
This morning we sail through the Lord of the Glens
descending Neptune's staircase, a set of eight
interconnected locks and onto Craignure on the Isle
of Mull. On arrival we have an included excursion by
coach to the Isle of Iona the last resting place of
some 50 Scottish Kings. Craignure will be our
berthing point for this evening.
Day 6 – Craignure - Tobermory
This morning we pay a visit to the nearby
photogenic Duart Castle, the ancestral home of the
McClain Clan. Later in the day we sail to the
picturesque Tobermory, on the Isle of Mull. You will
have the remaining day free to explore.
Day 7 – Tobermory - Inverie
Our destination is the tiny island of Eigg, where you
can get a sense of what life is like for the 90 or so
inhabitants and look for the marine animals and
birdlife. We continue our cruise past the
Ardnamurchan peninsula of the Scottish mainland
and the Isles of Coll and Muck to Loch Nevis,
stopping at the town of Inverie where you can
enjoy a drink in the most remote pub in the British
Isles.
Day 8 – Inverie - Kyle of Lochalsh
Early this morning we sail across the Sound of Sleet
to Armadale and the Isle of Skye where we visit the
Clan Donald Centre. We cruise to our final destination
- the Kyle of Lochalsh, and visit the Cuillins Mountains
and Portree. Later this evening we enjoy the
Captain's Farewell Reception and Dinner.
Day 9 – Kyle of Lochalsh - Inverness - London
This morning we bid farewell to our Captain and
crew and disembark for the return journey to Inverness and sleeper train to London..
