Day 1- Arrive Vancouver
Your flight arrives in Vancouver today. As Canada’s third largest city, this destination is steeped in arts, culture and fantastic amenities at every turn. Transfer to your hotel independently, and once you have checked in, you will have the rest of the day to enjoy the salty air and the magnificent sights. Overnight Vancouver.
Day 2 - Vancouver Sightseeing
Spend the day exploring this coastal city with a Hop-on Hop-off bus tour - the perfect way to see Vancouver’s most beloved attractions. You will enjoy looks at landmarks, such as Stanley Park and Granville Island; see attractions, including the Vancouver Aquarium, English Bay Beach and the Robson Street Shopping District; and get a deeper understanding of the region’s vast culture as you travel along the cobbled streets of Gastown. As you make your way through the city, check out the abundance of eateries and cafes to get a taste of true Vancouver. Overnight Vancouver.
Day 3 - Vancouver/VIA Rail Vancouver to Toronto
This morning, revisit favourite sites throughout Vancouver or take a walk along one of the many trails throughout the city. Later, transfer by taxi (included) to Vancouver’s train station, board VIA Rail’s Canadian and settle into your onboard accommodations. Being a Prestige Class traveller, you can enjoy the passing vistas from your extra-large picture window or from any of the lounges on the train. Day 4 - En Route to Toronto
Today you will awake in the rugged scenery of the Canadian Rockies. Jasper National Park is a wildlife sanctuary, so be on the lookout for one of the many species of mammals that live within the park and often wander within view of the tracks. Head to the Dining Car for a hot breakfast before exploring the amenities aboard the train. First-class passengers have access to all of the lounges on the train, as well as to the Skyline Car - your exclusive entertainment center with an observation dome offering 360-degree views - and the Park Car, with three different salons and an upper observation deck. Day 5 - En Route to Toronto
Take in the beautiful, changing scenery as the train approaches the Manitoba-Saskatchewan border, signaling the mid-point of your rail journey. Quaint mountain towns combine with rural scenery to make for relaxing vistas. Later, the train pulls into Winnipeg for a brief stop. This city is the capital of Manitoba and originally played host to Canada’s fur trading industry. You will see the junction of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers, which is now a trendy area called The Forks - a place where exclusive restaurants, live entertainment venues and shops and boutiques mingle with historic sites. Day 6 - En Route to Toronto
Look around - you are in the Canadian Shield. This part of Ontario features gentle scenery - low hills and plateaus intersected by small lakes and streams. The Canadian will make its way through Ontario today, traveling through this region, lowlands, cities and the countryside on this final leg of the train ride across Canada. Make the most of your last full day on the train, admiring the passing scenery, mountain towns, towering forests and tranquil lakes from your This evening, enjoy your last dinner aboard the train. Day 7- Arrive Toronto
Cityscapes come into view and the wide-open spaces of rural Canada are far behind as the train makes its way into Toronto. Upon arrival, transfer independently to your centrally located hotel, from which your adventures begin. You will have the day to explore the city’s vast offerings independently. Perhaps you will spend your time perusing the Kensington Market, or maybe you will venture up to the top of the CN Tower. With a zoo, museums, historic sites and gorgeous views over Lake Ontario, there is plenty to keep any traveler occupied. In the evening, the city comes to life. Toronto is well-known for its colorful nightlife scene, so enjoy dinner and drinks, then stay out for live music, shows, seasonal sporting events and plenty of places to spend your time once the sun goes down. Day 8 - Toronto Sightseeing
Enjoy a look at Toronto from a local’s perspective with a Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing tour of the city today. Aboard a double-decker bus, you will travel along a 12-mile loop through the center of the city. Along the way, sites such as Eaton Center, Casa Loma, the Bata Shoe Museum, Chinatown, the Hockey Hall of Fame and the famed Distillery District. You may “hop” on and off the bus at your leisure to get a better look at these incredible sites. Following the tour, you may spend your last evening in Toronto however you see fit. Overnight Toronto.
Day 9 - Tour Conclusion
Your Trans Canada rail tour comes to a close this morning as you check out of your hotel. Upon checkout, a shuttle will take you to Toronto’s airport where you will either return home or set out on your next great adventure.
