Day 1 - Boston
Arrive in Boston, and transfer on your own to your hotel. Meet your tour manager and fellow travellers at 6:00 p.m. for a brief meeting. After, you will enjoy dinner on your own at the hotel, or you can venture into Boston for a meal at one of the city’s renowned restaurants. The extended daylight hours of summer allow ample time to wander around the city; do not forget to visit Boston Common, the nation’s oldest public park. Overnight Boston, MA.
Day 2 - Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad/Kancamagus Highway
After breakfast at the hotel this morning, we will board our deluxe motorcoach and travel to Meredith, NH for a train excursion aboard the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad. Sit back and relax as the train travels along the tree-lined shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. The colourful flora of the forests provides the perfect backdrop for the day's journey. Following our train ride, we will enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant. Next, we board our motorcoach and make the scenic drive to Bretton Woods. We will go along the Kancamagus Highway, a scenic 34-mile highway that travels through White Mountains National Forest. The coach will leisurely make its way through the landscape, giving you a great opportunity to gaze upon the emerald-coloured trees, the Swift River, waterfalls and more. Along the way, you will enjoy a look at Albany Bridge, one of the region’s beautiful wooden covered bridges. Overnight Bretton Woods, NH. (B, L)
Day 3 - Mt. Washington Cog Railway/ Mount Washington Resort
We begin with an early morning excursion aboard the Mt. Washington Cog Railway. You will learn about the area's history and travel to the highest peak in the northeast on North America's steepest train. At the 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington, you will have plenty of time for photographs; the panoramic views that span the mountains of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and beyond are simply incredible. Enjoy lunch at the base of Mount Washington before returning to the Mount Washington Resort for an afternoon at leisure to participate in the resort's activities. Overnight Bretton Woods, NH. (L)
Day 4 - Vermont / Montreal
Following breakfast in the elegant main dining room of the Historic Mount Washington Hotel, our day continues by motorcoach through New Hampshire and then into Vermont. We will stop at Cabot Cheese Factory, which has been in operation since 1919 and offers a variety of cheeses and artisan dairy products. Following the cheese factory, we will continue our drive through Vermont and cross the border into the eastern townships of Quebec. We will stop in Magog, Quebec to board the Orford Express for an exquisite meal while taking in the great pastoral views that sweep the countryside around Magog and Lac Memphremagog. After our scenic train excursion, we will continue our trip through this region, where lakes and vineyards are the backdrop of our travels to Montreal. Day 5 - Montreal Sightseeing
This morning we depart on a sightseeing tour of Montreal, which includes must-see sights such as the Notre Dame Basilica, historic Old Montreal and Mont Royal. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to shop in the city's fashionable boutiques, explore the colourful neighbourhoods, and indulge in some culinary delights. As you walk through the city, all of your senses will be ignited; you will smell the fresh blossoms of Montreal’s floral displays, you will see beautiful and diverse street art and you will hear musicians performing their melodies throughout Downtown. Day 6 - Montreal/Quebec City
After breakfast, we board a VIA Rail train for Quebec City, the capital of Quebec Province and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, we will travel to Old Quebec for lunch in a quaint restaurant, where you will enjoy a French-inspired meal crafted from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Following the meal, we will embark on a guided tour of Quebec City. This evening, explore the city and enjoy one of the area's restaurants. Overnight Quebec City, QC. (B, L)
Day 7 - Quebec City
You will have the entire day to explore Old Quebec City and its surroundings. Have breakfast at one of the many French cafes before walking through the historic streets and along the fortified wall. There is so much to see in a city that showcases its well-preserved past, which dates back to 1608, alongside its modern-day achievements. Dinner this evening is at the Parc de la Chutes-Montmorency, where we will dine with breath-taking views of the great Montmorency Falls and Ile d'Orleans. Overnight Quebec City, QC. (D)
Day 8 - Quebec City / Bar Harbor
After breakfast, we travel the Old Canadian Scenic Byway as we make our way across the border and into the lovely state of Maine. We will enjoy an included lunch before making our way to Bar Harbor, the gateway to Acadia National Park. Upon arrival, the evening is yours to enjoy Bar Harbor's shopping and dining scene, which is famous for local lobster. Overnight Bar Harbor, ME. (B, L)
Day 9 - Acadia National Park
This morning we visit the oldest national park east of the Mississippi River, Acadia National Park. This seaside park takes in Mount Desert Island and surrounding smaller islands. During our guided tour, we will travel to the top of Cadillac Mountain for fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean. We return to Bar Harbor this afternoon, then the remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the town's shops and admire the harbour views. This evening we will enjoy a traditional New England Lobster Bake. Overnight Bar Harbor, ME. (B, D)
Day 10 - Scenic Drive to Salem
After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive through Maine to Salem, MA. We will stop at Portland's waterfront district for some free time and lunch before continuing to Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse in York, ME. Enjoy a farewell dinner tonight with your fellow travellers as our tour comes to an end. Overnight Salem, MA. (B, D)
Day 11 - Tour Conclusion
After breakfast, our motorcoach transfers everyone to Logan International Airport for flights departing after 1 p.m. or to Boston's South Station for trains departing after 13:30. (B)
